Christine Anne Royce is a Professor in the Department of Teacher Education and Co-Directs the MAT in STEM Education at Shippensburg University (PA). Royce teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses for preservice and inservice educators. While at Shippensburg, she has guided and managed the development of a graduate certificate in Online Instructional Learning Environments and has served in the Professional, Continuing, & Distance Education Division. She served as 2018-2019 President for the National Science Teaching Association.
Royce's background includes being an experienced professor with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry in the areas of Science/STEM Education, Online Instruction, Academic Program Development, Curriculum Development, and Grant Writing. She also brings to that experience, credentials that have a unique cross over into the area of business, marketing, and data science with a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Most recently she has supplemented the education and marketing areas with instructional design.
She is an author for four different books related to the integration of science and children's literature including Teaching Science Through Trade Books. Additionally, she serves as the column author for Teaching Through Trade Books which appears in Science and Children; and has recently had chapters published related to immersing preservice teachers in blended learning; using digital tools and practices to construct meaning; and literacy integration in science through the use of biographical narratives. She is often an invited presenter for both national and international venues. During her K-12 teaching experience, Royce focused on helping students make real world connections to their environment and interest them in how science is found within all aspects of their daily lives.
