I am an Assistant Headteacher responsible for Teaching & Learning and the curriculum at Saint George Catholic College, a comprehensive school in Southampton. My involvement with the ASE includes being a member of both my regional committee and the 11-19 committee. I am a former Head of Science and a Chartered Science Teacher (CSciTeach) - even with my whole school responsibilities teaching Science remains the most important and enjoyable part of my job.
I am particularly interested in practical work, and how to make sure it is effective for students. During the Covid pandemic I have contributed to several webinars run by ASE, mostly on the theme of practical work and how things can be adapted  to maintain the best outcomes for all students.
