Implementing COVID-19 safety measures is now an integral part of any practical science lesson. Risk assessing hands on activities is something teachers have always done. Although COVID means there’s now an added step, essentially the process remains the same. During this session CLEAPSS Primary will explain what ‘doing a risk assessment’ really means and talk about the common misconceptions people generally have about the process. We’ll then explain how CLEAPSS helps staff make this process simple and efficient but most importantly, effective. The sessions will finish with examples of how to make the most of the equipment you have available and by talking through our COVID-19 model risk assessment for practical activities – ‘Practical activities in a bubble’.
